Origins

Innovation across three decades.

During the mid-1980s, Claude Dauman worked in high-end real estate throughout Beverly Hills and surrounding luxury markets. He developed an innovative "talking sign" concept utilizing a low-power FM transmitter — prospective buyers could pull up to a property, tune in through their car radio, and hear a full narrated presentation of the home. It was an early experiment in technology-enabled sales and consumer experience.

From 1989 through 1995, Claude served as a senior executive at a prominent Point of Purchase advertising firm, gaining extensive experience in sales strategy, branding, marketing, and consumer engagement across multiple verticals.

Recognizing the emerging commercial potential of the internet, he launched his first online ventures in 1996 — while most businesses still questioned whether the internet would amount to anything. He moved immediately into a landscape without maps, without playbooks, and without precedent.

Featured in The New York Times.

In 1997, one of Claude's online ventures was featured in The New York Times for an early ecommerce venture offering regional foods, including Drake's Cakes, Yankee Doodles, Ring Dings, and other nostalgic East Coast favorites, to transplanted residents of New York and other major East Coast cities. The coverage recognized the innovation of building commerce around scarcity and nostalgia at a moment when most people had never shopped online.

This was 1997. Google did not yet exist. E-commerce was experimental. Claude had already identified a market inefficiency and built the infrastructure to address it.

"An ecommerce venture built on regional scarcity and East Coast nostalgia — bringing transplanted residents home through familiar foods."

2000s – 2009

Building one of the internet's early e-commerce successes.

Through the 2000s, Claude built and scaled a leading online retailer of designer swimwear — one of the first in its category to operate at national scale. The business established a loyal customer base, a recognizable brand, and a strong market position.

In 2009, the business was successfully acquired — one of the earliest significant exits in direct-to-consumer online retail. The outcome validated a thesis: that premium brands, built online with patience and craft, hold enduring value.

Domain Investing

Beginning in 1996 with the acquisition of Dauman.com, Claude built a long-term portfolio of premium digital assets and domain brands — chosen for brandability, memorability, and long-term appreciation. The portfolio spans industries, verticals, and emerging technologies.

002

Strategic Curation

Not every domain is an asset. The approach draws on decades of brand intuition: understanding which names carry natural authority, which convert, and which will appreciate as industries evolve.

003

Private Transactions

Each acquisition and disposition is handled with discretion. Buyers engage directly. Terms are structured for mutual benefit. The process reflects the care applied to every asset in the portfolio.

Philosophy

Thirty years compounding.

The names change — e-commerce became domains, domains became digital assets, digital assets now include AI identities — but the underlying principle is constant: the internet rewards those who move early, think long, and build with care.

Today, Dauman.com serves as a curated showcase for premium digital assets, developed online ventures, consulting opportunities, and strategic brand positioning. Engagements are selective, focused on serious founders and established companies seeking real insight from someone who has been building online since before most of their teams were born.
